Wart and the Panoramas festival were born in 1997 through the initiative of a group of volunteers within an association that was far from predicting its current scale. When the members launched the first edition of Panoramas in 1997, the simple idea was to give a significant boost to the cultural and musical scene in the Morlaix area.
Twenty years later, through perseverance, boldness, and a keen eye for discovering emerging artists, the association, which has become highly professionalized, has secured a prime place in the French music landscape as an event programmer, but also as a tour promoter and producer of shows.
Although the festival was the starting point for the association, Panoramas has led to a broader role as a developer and supporter of contemporary music artists. This activity has now become equally important in the life of the association. Jeanne Added, NTO, Zaho de Sagazan, Chapelier Fou, Naïve New Beaters, Acid Arab, Hysta, Billx, and Meute are just a few examples of the musicians exclusively supported by Wart on both the national and international levels.
Deeply connected to the region where it was founded, the association is also active throughout the year in the Morlaix area with a series of cultural actions and occasional concerts, sometimes in secret locations or at the Roudour space in Saint-Martin-des-Champs.
This territorial work has intensified through the new cultural venue SEW, which Wart runs with its partners, the La Salamandre cinema and CNCA (formerly l'Entresort), a multidisciplinary entity that has settled in the former Morlaix Tobacco Factory, covering over 5,000 square meters.
